ECIO 2022 Recap

The CASCINATION team was present at The European Conference on Interventional Oncology (ECIO) 2022 in Vienna.

We had a great 4 days at ECIO engaging with physicians giving over 50 product demos and showing the value of Quality Ablation.

Here are some of the key moments of the congress:

We started by setting up the booth.

Scientific Sessions

While all the scientific sessions had something to offer, a few were specifically relevant:

Interim Results from the COLLISION Trial

Principal Investigator Prof. Martijn Meijerink (Amsterdam UMC) showcases the interim results of COLLISION, in short, showing yet again ablation should be considered over surgery for small CRLM.

ECIO11-1

ECIO 12

Later in a different session when asked by the audience about “How to present positive ablation trial results to a surgeon-led tumor board”, Prof. Meijerink thanked the surgeons he worked with closely within the Netherlands but reminded the audience that the most important thing to do in situations like this, is to simply “Be present” at the tumor board meetings to make your voice heard.

Planning: Including Robotic and Monitoring tools

Two of these six topics featured CAS-One IR . Prof Wiggerman (Klinikum Braunschweig) presented some of his IRE research with CAS-One IR showing the time savings, as well as mentioned specifically how using a tool like this led to reproducible and standardized outcomes – something all should aspire for.

ECIO3

ECIO4

Lukas Luerken (Regensburg) walked through the CAS-One IR procedure, and showed a few complex cases and highlighted many specific instances where our technology is useful. When challenged by the audience regarding the setup time Dr. Luerken did exclaim after your first few cases, when you have good anesthesia, nursing and radiography teams, the patient setup, plus the planning is still less than 10 minutes.

ECIO9-2

7 E-Posters

Here are the 7 E-Posters featuring CAS-One IR - with a CIRSE login, each one is viewable.

P-15 / Microwave ablation in a challenging location - treatment of HCC adjacent to the adrenal gland

P-65 / Successful stereotactic ECT for treatment of a large hepatic metastasis at the liver dome

P-67 / Stereotactic ablation of a lesion high up in the liver dome following an unsuccessful freehand attempt

P-70 / Computer-assisted planning, execution and verification of three overlapping ablations

P-138 / Bone core biopsy planned with CAS-One IR (CASCINATION AG)

P-87 / Cryoablation of a large liposarcoma of the thigh with a high precision navigation system

P-51 / Adopting stereotactic CT-guided radiofrequency ablation – an initial hospital experience

Thank You!
